Our Approach Research & Analysis
Why is it so important?
To many, the perception of the financial markets tends to evoke images of young, brash individuals surrounded by banks of computer monitors and with a telephone receiver firmly secured to each ear and, certainly, there are many institutions where this breed can be found. What is not always appreciated, however, is the work that goes on behind the scenes. A trader is only as good as the analytical research he or she bases trades upon. This analysis is absolutely crucial to the success of a trading strategy and investors discount them at their peril.
All Source One International's investment strategies are the result of relentless and meticulous research.
We identify and invest in sectors that are set to prosper from underlying economic conditions.
In keeping with our blunt refusal to follow the herd, we continually ask ourselves where the crowd is NOT investing. Where our competitors see doom and gloom, we search for opportunities. Where they see a "sure thing", we look for signs of over-buying. This is not to say that we are strictly contrarian in our approach but, often, when everyone is piling in at the top of a market, it is usually a sign that the smart investors should be getting out.
Having the confidence and expertise to seek out the winners of tomorrow allows us to stay ahead of the market.
Our researchers ask themselves if a prospect company represents the best exposure to a particular sector. Searching for cheap companies, per se, is seldom enough. We identify cheap companies, yes, but the price must be complimented by excellent management, outstanding assets, strong balance sheets and eminently sustainable competitive advantages. |

In making recommendations we use chart-based technical analysis to optimize our entry into a stock or other asset at an opportune point within a trend. This helps our clients minimize downside risk while maximizing the upside. Put simply, we like to invest with the trend. Timing is everything!
Fundamental analysis takes a more clinical perspective by examining aspects like earnings projected and actual, EBITDA, financial statements and even geo-politics.
Whilst others tend to use either fundamental or technical analysis to recommend stocks, at Source One International, we have found that two disciplines are better than one in helping us to recommend the best value shares at the best possible price.
